Ellie Mae, the leading cloud-based platform provider for the mortgage finance industry, faced the sudden need to pivot its annual in-person conference to a fully virtual event due to COVID-19. With just four weeks to launch Virtual Experience 2020 and objectives to engage attendees, unite partners, and deliver product training, Ellie Mae turned to Contentstack’s API-first headless CMS to provide the flexibility and content reuse needed for a fast, scalable virtual experience.
Using Contentstack, Ellie Mae rapidly built a feature-rich site (comments, bookmarking, live streaming, tracking, authentication) and empowered non-technical stakeholders to manage content, cutting time-to-market and project costs. The virtual event drew 7,500 registrations (triggering a $50,000 donation to GetUsPPE.org), generated about 100 million data points, nearly 9,000 unique views for Town Halls and special sessions, ~2,000 hours of video watched, and more than 50% of attendees classified as engaged users.
