Inside Ellie Mae’s Pandemic Pivot

ICE Mortgage Technology (Ellie Mae) faced a sudden need to convert its annual in-person conference into Virtual Experience 2020 due to COVID-19. With only four weeks to launch, the team had to accommodate roughly 7,500 registrations (more than double typical attendance), preserve content and certifications, enable partner networking, capture attendee data, and support charitable donations totaling $50,000. To do this they turned to Contentstack’s API-first, headless CMS.

Using Contentstack, ICE Mortgage Technology reused existing content, built a feature-rich virtual site (comments, bookmarks, live streaming, town halls) and trained non-technical stakeholders to manage content, all within four weeks—reducing time-to-market and cost. The virtual event produced measurable results: 100 million data points collected, nearly 9,000 unique views for live sessions, about 2,000 hours of video watched, and over 50% of attendees classified as engaged users, highlighting Contentstack’s impact on agility, engagement and savings.
