A Contently Case Study
Babbel, the Berlin-based language-learning app, built a global video strategy around engaging polyglot stories (like Matthew’s nine-language monologue) to make language learning feel accessible. Their challenge was scaling high-quality, localized video and article content: strict translation and subtitle approval slowed production and limited publishing frequency.
Babbel adopted Contently’s content-technology platform to centralize editorial workflows, tag subtitle edits, and streamline pitching, writing, and approvals. As a result, output rose 200–300% by language, weekly publishing jumped from one story to two or three, and videos and sites saw strong engagement (e.g., 6.6M and 2.5M views on key clips, six magazine sites with ~7M monthly visitors each), which translated into higher session times and increased registration and subscription rates.
