In Hamilton Township, ContentKeeper Is Helping Save Lives

Hamilton Township School District, a K-12 district in New Jersey serving about 3,000 students, was determined to do everything possible to keep students from harming themselves or others after experiencing multiple suicides over several decades. To strengthen its student safety efforts, the district used ContentKeeper Technologies’ web filtering and monitoring solution, ContentKeeper, alongside suicide prevention training and SEL programs.

ContentKeeper Technologies implemented its Behavioral Analysis feature to scan student web searches and flag potentially harmful phrases in real time, including searches related to self-harm or violence. The district created alerts for more than 800 keyword phrases and used them to intervene quickly, involve parents and school staff, and connect students with help before situations turned tragic. Hamilton Township said the approach has helped save lives and enabled the district to act before it was too late.
