ContentKeeper Provides Next-Generation Internet Security for 24 Pennsylvania School Districts Including Off-Campus Filtering with Detailed Reporting

Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU), which supports 24 school districts in central Pennsylvania, needed a more robust web filtering and security solution. Its older system could not effectively inspect SSL-encrypted traffic, allow granular control beyond the top-level domain, or provide detailed reporting on students’ internet use. CAIU turned to ContentKeeper Technologies and its ContentKeeper web filtering platform to address these gaps.

ContentKeeper Technologies implemented an in-line, next-generation filtering solution that inspects and filters both HTTP and HTTPS traffic, including full URL-level control over SSL-encrypted sites. The system also supports off-campus filtering on school-issued devices without a proxy setting, with tamper-proof controls and detailed user-based reporting. As a result, CAIU gained finer policy control, better visibility into student activity at school and at home, and strong performance with no noticeable network delays.
