We Are Living, a Leeds-based startup, built the Leeds Living city guide to give 1.5 million annual visitors timely, location-aware recommendations. Faced with tight deadlines and a small budget, the team needed a CMS that could capture precise geo-data without forcing editors to enter coordinates and support flexible content models so different place types (restaurants, studios, etc.) could store different fields.

They selected Contentful, adding a native location field, modular sub-entries for category-specific data, and using the Contentful API for fast location-based queries and dynamic recommendations. The single CMS also powers iBeacon promotions and mobile apps (with Sync, CDN and image optimization), delivering a significantly faster build, powerful geo-querying, and a much more efficient editorial workflow with reusable cross‑platform content.
