Rotherham Council earns £290,000 in media coverage with Content Soup

Rotherham Council faced the challenge of launching and promoting its ambitious Children’s Capital of Culture 2025 project, which had very little visibility both within and outside the borough. The council appointed the agency Content Soup to develop and execute a high-impact integrated marketing and communications campaign for a 2022 pilot program to change the narrative about the town and generate public support.

Content Soup implemented a creative, youth-focused strategy that included PR, non-traditional outdoor advertising, branded merchandise, and community engagement. The results were significant, including media coverage with a £290,000 value and a reach of 3.9 million, over 10,000 distributed pieces of collateral, and campaign visibility in over 200 venues. The campaign successfully generated a new sense of pride in Rotherham and built a solid foundation for the program, leading to Content Soup being retained for the following year.
