Contego worked with Westfield, a global operator of major shopping centres, to address a time-consuming, manual pre-employment and pre-entry screening process. Westfield needed a way to streamline capture of applicant data and speed up identity and risk checks for retail staff, contractors and others requesting access to secure areas without compromising accuracy or compliance.

Contego delivered a custom online application that shifts data entry to applicants and runs real-time, multi-source identity and risk checks—cross-referencing law enforcement, commercial and Westfield’s internal banned (ASBO) lists—and delivers a pass/fail result to a management console; Keesing is used for final document verification at the security desk. The platform has processed 10,000+ applicants, flagged false IDs and banned individuals (leading to arrests/removals), reduced manual workload and costs, sped issuance of security passes, and provided a full audit trail and stronger compliance.
