Mixaco Maschinenbau, a manufacturer of industrial mixers, faced the challenge of ensuring high reliability for its global customers, as any mixer downtime would halt a client's entire production line. The company sought to shorten service response times and offer added value by digitally monitoring its machines. They partnered with vendor CONTACT Software and implemented its Elements for IoT platform to address this need.

CONTACT Software's solution connected the mixers using existing PLC data, requiring no additional sensors, and hosted the platform securely with T-Systems. The implementation allowed for the continuous evaluation of machine data to detect deviations and trigger warnings, enabling predictive maintenance and improving machine availability for customers. The vendor demonstrated the platform's capability with a successful proof of concept after just two weeks, and the standard version provided 90 percent of the desired functions.
