Management of the building stock, knowledge archive and pioneer in digital planning, construction and operation with CIM Database

The Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsverwaltung des Bundes (WSV), Germany's Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration, faced the challenge of digitizing its massive building stock management and establishing standardized Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for its extensive infrastructure network. To manage over 50,000 structures and meet new regulatory requirements, the organization partnered with CONTACT Software for a solution.

CONTACT Software implemented its CIM Database platform as a centralized, authority-wide system for digital document management. This solution provided structured project management, integrated with existing tools, and established a legally compliant long-term archive. For the customer, this resulted in accelerated approval procedures, improved communication with contractors, and reliable lifecycle data management from planning through to maintenance, solidifying its role as a pioneer in digital construction.
