The BOSAL Group, a global automotive supplier, faced the challenge of standardizing its disparate product development processes across 35 sites worldwide. Different divisions used a mix of in-house PLM solutions, file servers, and basic office applications, which were error-prone and incompatible with the strict requirements of their OEM customers. To support a new strategic direction focused on OEM business, BOSAL needed a uniform, global Product Creation Process (PCP) and a PLM system to manage it, leading them to partner with CONTACT Software and its CIM DATABASE PLM solution.

CONTACT Software implemented its CIM DATABASE PLM to map BOSAL's entire product engineering process, utilizing an agile approach to meet an ambitious four-and-a-half-month timeline for the initial phase. The solution modernized the existing PLM landscape, introduced standardized modules, and replaced local servers with a private cloud. The implementation resulted in over 600 employees using the system globally, enabling reliable, traceable engineering and change processes. This provided the vital global platform needed for international teamwork and was essential for the ECS division to continue operating as an OEM supplier.
