Case Study: SIG achieves seamless digitalization and global PLM integration with CONTACT Software

All set for digitalization with new CAD and PLM systems

The customer, SIG Combibloc, a global manufacturer of aseptic packaging systems, faced the challenge of modernizing its aging CAD and PLM systems, which were being phased out. Their legacy system lacked automatic CAD data transfer and could not meet the future demands of digitalization, requiring a new solution that offered global performance, a fast ROI, and seamless integration with SAP. They selected a new PLM solution from vendor CONTACT Software in partnership with SolidLine.

CONTACT Software implemented its CIM Database PLM platform, which integrated seamlessly with the new SolidWorks CAD system and SAP. The solution included an automated migration of hundreds of thousands of legacy CAD models and established a single source of truth for mechatronics data. The results included globally uniform processes, streamlined change management integrated with purchasing and warehousing, and simplified compliance for over 150 users, successfully positioning SIG for future digitalization requirements.
