Culling 9.4M Documents from FTC Second Request Using Consilio Analytics

Large Medical Services Network, a large hospital and physician network on the U.S. East Coast, faced the challenge of responding to a U.S. FTC Second Request involving more than 11.2 million documents under tight deadlines. Consilio LLC supported the matter using Complete Intelligence and TAR 2.0 CAL to help reduce the review population in a way that would be acceptable to the regulator.

Consilio LLC implemented Email Threading and a TAR 2.0 Continuous Active Learning workflow, and also guided the client in presenting the methodology, sampling, and reporting to the FTC. The result was a reduction of 9.4 million documents: 1.8 million removed through threading, 3.2 million through file analysis, and 4.3 million through TAR with 86% recall, helping the client lower cost, meet timelines, and satisfy regulatory requirements.
