A Conservis Case Study
Wiens Farms, a multi‑generation corn and soybean operation near Beatrice, NE run by brothers Scott and Shawn Wiens and their sons, was overwhelmed by growing complexity: stacks of scale tickets, manual spreadsheets, time‑consuming chemical and fertilizer ownership splits, and the need to prepare records for the next generation. To address these challenges they adopted Conservis farm management software in 2014 to replace paper records and simplify ownership and input tracking.
Conservis automated land and input ownership splits, integrated MyJohnDeere machine data, and provided grain/inventory tracking along with hands‑on tech support. As a result Wiens Farms reduced bookkeeping from about five hours per week to roughly one (saving about 16 hours per month), eliminated most paper processes, sped reconciliation of prepaid inputs, and gained clearer per‑field profitability—making it easier to hand recordkeeping and financial decisions to the next generation.
