A Conservis Case Study
Lone Star Family Farms is a multi-generation operation based in Sunray, TX that manages 55,200 acres of irrigated row crops with about 50 full‑time (and up to 80 seasonal) employees. Facing challenges with grain tracking, limited field visibility, and slow paper‑based communication to field crews, Lone Star adopted Conservis in 2013—using Conservis’ work orders and the Clipboard mobile tools—to add an extra inspection point and create an accurate, centrally organized dataset.
Conservis was rolled out across all crops to provide real‑time field visibility, electronic work orders, inventory tracking and full traceability. The system helped recover a lost canola load worth roughly $20,000, recover two lost wheat loads, and—per Lone Star’s Inventory Control Specialist—prevent about 30 corn loads from being misdelivered over six years; field teams logged 4,000 Work Order tickets last year with only three problems. Conservis also sped insurance claims through precise records, eliminated paper delays, improved communication and saved significant time for managers and equipment staff.
