Mata Capital - Customer Case Study

Mata Capital, a French real estate fund manager, wanted to modernize how it distributes fund shares and maintains its investor registry. It faced high administrative costs, cumbersome manual KYC and onboarding processes, and limited investor access to real estate investments and secondary markets. To address this, Mata Capital worked with Consensys Codefi to explore blockchain-based tokenization for its funds.

Using Consensys Codefi Assets on Ethereum, Mata Capital issued security tokens for three funds totaling €350m, including a €26m tokenized issuance tied to an 11-story hotel under construction near Paris. The platform automated KYC, whitelisting, share issuance, and investor registry maintenance, creating a single source of truth with improved transparency, accuracy, and security. As a result, Mata Capital expects lower operating costs, easier global distribution, and better liquidity for investors, especially in the secondary market.
