A ConsenSys Case Study
The European Union sought to ground fast-moving blockchain policy in reliable, up-to-date insight and broad stakeholder input. To deliver a transparent, technology‑agnostic evidence base and forum for debate, the European Commission selected ConsenSys as lead partner to set up and run the EU Blockchain Observatory & Forum, a two‑year initiative designed to map activity, educate stakeholders, and inform policymaking.
ConsenSys built the Observatory platform and convened academic partners, working groups and an open community to deliver mapping, analysis, events and educational resources. As of May 2019 ConsenSys-supported activities included nine thematic workshops and five published reports, a public website with 33,000+ visitors, an active online forum of 1,650 users, a map with 600+ initiatives, and 6,200 Twitter followers — measurable outputs used to guide ongoing EU blockchain recommendations and research.
