A ConsenSys Case Study
Aura, a consortium initiative led by LVMH to give luxury consumers verifiable product histories and proof of authenticity, needed a secure, brand-controlled way to track items across complex supply chains and secondary markets. ConsenSys partnered on the effort, supplying blockchain engineering and components — including Traceability Smart Contracts (ERC‑721), a Quorum-based permissioned Ethereum network and a white‑label brand API deployed on Microsoft Azure — to power the platform.
ConsenSys built the on‑chain infrastructure and smart contracts that let brands record each product’s lifecycle and issue AURA certificates consumers can use to verify provenance, components, ethical/environmental data, and after‑sales coverage. The solution has already onboarded several LVMH maisons, including Louis Vuitton and Parfums Christian Dior, delivering a shared, immutable source of truth that strengthens authenticity, transparency and consumer trust across production, point‑of‑sale and resale channels.
