A Connexall Case Study
The Mount Sinai Medical Center, a 1,171-bed tertiary and quaternary teaching hospital, faced workflow and patient-safety challenges because nurses had to walk to central stations to assess telemetry alarms and there was no way to track nurse response times in existing SQL reports. To address this, Mount Sinai selected Connexall for enterprise integration of GE patient monitors, Hill‑Rom bedside nurse call stations and reporting services tied to staff Vocera badges.
Connexall implemented phased integrations that routed filtered telemetry and nurse‑call events to Vocera badges, suppressed nuisance alarms to reduce alarm fatigue, and added customizable escalation and SQL reporting to capture acknowledgement and response-time metrics. As a result, Connexall enabled measurable improvements in staff efficiency, accountability and patient responsiveness—providing data to optimize staffing and continuous quality improvement efforts.
