PGE GiEK S.A., a major Polish power generation and coal mining company, faced the challenge of inefficiently monitoring its seven geographically dispersed branches. The need to manually consolidate data from local applications for reports was a significant barrier, slowing down decision-making for management and complicating compliance with rapidly changing regulations. To address this, they selected vendor ConnectPoint to implement an integrated, real-time production monitoring and automated reporting system based on an OSIsoft PI solution.

ConnectPoint designed and implemented a Production Monitoring System (SMP) using OSIsoft PI and their own SmartRDM product. The solution consolidated real-time data from 250,000 measurement points across all branches into a central repository. It automated the reporting process, generating and distributing key reports to 120 recipients daily and providing real-time process visualizations. This provided PGE GiEK with a secure, scalable system that significantly improved operational efficiency, accelerated decision-making, and enabled better production planning and failure prevention.
