How Nucor Steel Increased Safety and Productivity with Digital Signage

Nucor Steel, a major U.S. steel producer, needed a new communication system to broadcast critical emergency weather alerts across its large plant campus, ensuring the safety of its 750+ employees. The company turned to its longtime technology partner, Connection Inc, to help implement a digital signage solution that could also handle other communication needs without overburdening the IT department.

Connection Inc evaluated systems with Nucor and helped implement a flexible Black Box iCOMPEL Digital Signage solution. The system, which did not require annual licensing fees, allowed non-technical staff to easily manage and personalize content for safety alerts, visitor greetings, and production data. The initial rollout of 15 displays was very successful, with plans to double that number, and the system received positive feedback for providing valuable, dynamic information that increased both safety and productivity.
