To address these challenges, the system partnered with Conifer Health Solutions and deployed Conifer’s Eligibility & Enrollment and patient access services to standardize processes, expand financial assistance, and streamline registration and pre‑service clearance.

Conifer Health Solutions implemented a technology‑enabled, enterprise‑wide approach—combining on‑site and centralized Certified Application Counselors, digital self‑service applications, AI‑driven analytics, and automated registration workflows—which yielded stronger financial results than prior internal and vendor operations. As a result, the program expanded from one hospital to all five, generated a $22M increase in annual cash collections over five years, achieved $36M in annual cash collections, processed $93M in charity care annually for over 21,000 approvals, and helped reduce bad debt while improving patient access and satisfaction.
