A Conga Case Study
Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW), a humanitarian NGO founded in 1984 with programs in over 40 countries, sponsors 55,000 orphans and relies on detailed multilingual donor reports (biodata and annual progress summaries). Preparing these handwritten, translated reports was time-consuming—taking 4–6 hours each, involving five languages and frequent currency/language inconsistencies—which limited field agents’ ability to expand sponsorships and introduced reporting errors.
By implementing Conga Composer (and optionally Conga Conductor for batch emailing), IRW automated language-specific templates and used Salesforce-driven logic to generate personalized narrative reports in minutes. The change standardized reporting, saved about 161,000 staff hours annually and nearly $2 million in costs, and enabled IRW to scale its orphan sponsorship program while freeing teams to focus on services rather than administrative work.
