Case Study: Nokia Siemens Networks achieves higher test coverage and productivity with Conformiq Model-Based Testing

A Conformiq Case Study

Preview of the Nokia Siemens Networks Case Study

How Conformiq Model Based Testing was used to solve major software development challenges

Nokia Siemens Networks, an R&D center within the telecommunications industry, faced significant testing challenges including a huge amount of legacy functionality requiring extensive regression testing, shorter release cycles, and pressure to improve cost effectiveness without sacrificing quality. To address these issues, they partnered with the vendor Conformiq to pilot and deploy its Model Based Testing solution, Conformiq Designer, aiming to automate test design and increase efficiency.

Conformiq implemented its Model Based Testing technology, which was integrated into Nokia Siemens Networks' existing test automation framework. The solution automated test design, generating test cases and execution scripts with guaranteed traceability. The results were significant, showing a 15-40% improvement in productivity, higher code coverage (up to 97%), and the discovery of additional faults even after manual testing was completed. The deployment confirmed a positive business case and led to a more efficient testing process for the customer.
