Daimler AG was facing the challenge of ensuring high product quality for its increasingly complex and variable automotive HMI systems amidst rapid development cycles. To address this, Daimler partnered with the vendor Conformiq to implement a model-based testing approach.

The solution from Conformiq involved developing a dedicated HMI test model using object-oriented state machines for test case generation, focusing on the most common failure types identified through a detailed analysis of over 3,000 reports. This methodology enabled the automatic generation and execution of test cases. The implementation provided detection of errors, ensuring optimal test coverage for Daimler's HMI systems.
