Vimeo, the SaaS video platform serving more than 260 million users, faced slow, batch-based analytics that left product and marketing teams waiting up to a day for insights. To deliver adaptive, real-time video experiences (including adaptive bitrate streaming) and enable faster experiment and campaign pivots, Vimeo adopted Confluent’s data streaming platform—moving from self-managed Kafka to Confluent Cloud.

Using Confluent Cloud and streaming pipelines, Vimeo streams clickstream and playback data into Snowflake and other sinks, powers an adaptive bitrate optimization model, and improves observability across teams. Confluent enabled real‑time analytics and faster iterations (time-to-market for data products cut from days to hours), reduced TCO that saved roughly three FTEs, and delivered smoother playback and more agile decision‑making for Vimeo’s products and campaigns.
