SunPower Enables Greater Independence and a Modern Customer Engagement Strategy with Confluent

SunPower, a leading residential and commercial solar company with 286,000 monitored systems and over 6 million monitored devices, faced a major challenge: its legacy systems could not collect, aggregate, or serve real-time telemetry at scale to power consumer-facing energy management and internal analytics. To modernize its customer experience and unlock real-time use cases, SunPower turned to Confluent and Confluent’s data streaming platform as the backbone of its monitoring architecture.

Confluent implemented a real-time data platform that ingests telemetry from millions of solar and storage devices, enabling homeowners and SunPower to view and act on energy usage, battery state, and consumption rates instantly. With Confluent, SunPower achieved higher engineering velocity (reducing cross-system lead times), launched real-time customer features such as SunVault outage alerts, and improved fleet management and predictive insights—now operating on live data from its 6 million+ device fleet.
