Rodan + Fields Transforms Its Enterprise Data Platform with Confluent and Google Cloud

Rodan + Fields, a leading North American skincare brand and direct-selling company, faced a batch-oriented, database-centric data platform that couldn’t scale for peak volumes and introduced hour-long latencies for orders and consultant data. To modernize, Rodan + Fields partnered with Confluent and Google Cloud Platform, adopting Confluent Cloud (managed Apache Kafka) and a cloud-based real-time streaming architecture.

Confluent and Google Cloud implemented streaming pipelines that move commerce data via Confluent into Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery, trained R+F teams, and helped retire the legacy data center and database architecture. As a result, Rodan + Fields completed the transformation in about 15 months (accelerating the program by more than a year), cut administrative costs, eliminated hour-long latencies to deliver near-real-time data, and enabled analytics work that used to take a month to finish in two days.
