EVO Banco’s Award-Winning Banking Services Powered by Data Streaming

EVO Banco, a Spanish digital-native bank, faced scalability, latency and maintenance limits with its self-managed Kafka clusters, which drove up costs and caused service interruptions. To address these challenges the bank selected Confluent’s managed offering, Confluent Cloud, to support its real-time data strategy and modern mobile banking use cases.

Confluent implemented Confluent Cloud to provide elastic scaling, high availability, integrated stream processing (ksqlDB), schema registry, and secure governance. As a result, EVO Banco now runs in‑stream fraud detection over more than 500,000 daily transactions, blocks about 500 fraudulent transactions per day, cut weekly fraud losses by 99%, reduced reaction times to seconds, multiplied FTE cost savings by 10×, and improved customer experience and NPS—contributing to awards like Europe’s Most Innovative Bank. Confluent Cloud also shortened time to market and removed the need for costly infrastructure investments.
