DISH Wireless Unlocks Industry 4.0 Use Cases With Confluent Cloud

DISH Wireless needed a way to build a cloud-native 5G network that could handle exabyte-scale data and expose network insights to developers, since traditional telco infrastructure kept operations data in a black box. To solve this, DISH Wireless used Confluent Cloud to create an event-driven data streaming platform and data mesh for its new programmable O-RAN network.

With Confluent, DISH Wireless implemented real-time streaming pipelines, federated governance, and API-based data products that made network data accessible across cloud, edge, and device environments. The results included a more flexible, scalable, and resilient connectivity platform, faster innovation for enterprise use cases, and expanded coverage of its cloud-native 5G O-RAN network to more than 73% of the United States as of June 2023.
