Care.com, an online marketplace for childcare, senior care, tutoring, pet care and housekeeping across 20 countries, needed to consolidate a collection of large monolithic systems into a single, agile platform to speed time to market and improve customer experience. Already using Confluent Platform, Care.com decided to transition to Confluent Cloud to power its new Bravo Platform for greater scalability, reliability, and to offload complex operational work.

Confluent delivered Confluent Cloud plus Schema Registry and Protobuf-based serialization, enabling Care.com to build a microservices-based Bravo Platform with CI/CD for schema evolution and automated management of topics, ACLs, and service accounts. The result was faster iteration (weeks-long tests reduced to quick experiments), substantial DevOps time savings, improved scalability, and finer-grained security and data governance — driving increased operational agility and a better customer experience.
