A Confluent Case Study
Bankers Healthcare Group (BHG), a fast-growing financial services firm that has originated more than $9 billion in loans, faced an aging, three-tier legacy IT architecture that could not keep pace with its growth or product innovation needs. To modernize and scale their platform, BHG engaged Confluent (using Confluent Professional Services) to build a real-time streaming architecture based on Apache Kafka with Kafka Connect, pre-built connectors and ksqlDB.
Confluent implemented a Kafka-based streaming backbone, deploying over 20 Confluent connectors (Salesforce, Elasticsearch, New Relic, etc.), Kafka Connect and early ksqlDB stream processing to decouple legacy systems, eliminate data silos and accelerate integrations. As a result, Confluent enabled BHG to move integrations from weeks to days (in some cases less than a day), unify data access across teams, facilitate their cloud strategy, and create a platform that supports rapid product innovation and real-time decisioning.
