BAADER Builds an IoT-Based, Data-Driven Food Value Chain with Confluent Cloud

BAADER, a leading provider of food processing solutions for the fish, poultry, and meat industry, needed to increase efficiency across the entire food value chain by using data to interpret and forecast events. BAADER selected CONFLUENT—using Apache Kafka, Confluent Cloud and ksqlDB—as its core digital platform to capture and analyze IoT, weather, and GPS data as a single source of truth.

CONFLUENT implemented a Confluent Cloud streaming platform that ingests, filters, transforms and integrates real-time data (using ksqlDB and Elasticsearch/MongoDB connectors) so BAADER can share curated insights across partners. The deployment created an industry-first data-driven food value chain, opened new business opportunities, enabled real-time data curation and sharing, and reduced operational overhead by offloading Kafka maintenance to CONFLUENT.
