Myron Corporation, a global marketer of personalized business gifts, was losing significant productivity during its busy fourth quarter because large art files accessed from file servers were loading slowly or with errors. The art department’s heavy I/O demands caused jobs to stall and generated frequent support complaints, so IT needed a way to improve file-server responsiveness without costly storage upgrades.

IT deployed V-locity on Windows VMs to optimize I/O at the OS layer using IntelliWrite and IntelliMemory, which prevented split I/Os and cached active data. The result: files processed in about a quarter of the time with no load errors, user complaints stopped, and I/O traffic to the SAN dropped dramatically (reported as a 157% reduction), enabling more VMs on the SAN and extending existing infrastructure life without new hardware.
