A Condusiv Technologies Case Study
MB Financial Bank, a commercial bank with about 1,700 employees and nearly 90 Chicagoland branches, faced the common IT challenge that file fragmentation can degrade performance and accelerate hard drive wear. As an early adopter of automatic defragmentation, MB implemented Condusiv’s Diskeeper starting in 2002 to prevent fragmentation, reduce housekeeping overhead, and keep systems running smoothly so IT could focus on other preventative maintenance.
MB deployed 136 Diskeeper Server licenses (managed via Diskeeper Administrator) across SAN-attached servers, SQL and application systems, using features like InvisiTasking and IntelliWrite to eliminate fragmentation in real time. The automated "set it and forget it" approach freed the IT team from manual defrag tasks, extended hard drive longevity (enterprise servers running 6+ years without drive failures), delivered reported 99.999% uptime, and produced a server drive failure rate under 1%—well below typical industry annual failure rates of 2–4%.
