I.B.I.S., Inc. Doubles Throughput for ERP and CRM with V-locity I/O Reduction Software

I.B.I.S., Inc., an award-winning Microsoft Dynamics partner that resells and implements Dynamics ERP and CRM solutions, had virtualized its infrastructure on Microsoft Hyper-V and was experiencing sluggish ERP/CRM performance and HelpDesk complaints. The root cause was the hypervisor “I/O blender” and a surplus of small, split I/Os from Windows VMs, and the company wanted to avoid an expensive hardware forklift upgrade.

They tested and deployed Condusiv’s V-locity I/O-reduction software (installed on Windows VMs and validated with the embedded Benefit Analyzer), which sequentialized random I/O and cached active data to reduce I/O demand. As a result, aggregate performance improved about 75%, heavy SQL workloads saw ~120% higher throughput (I/Os per GB dropped from 82,000 to 29,000 and processing time per GB fell from 0.78 to 0.36 minutes), HelpDesk tickets ceased, and web page stickiness tripled—achieving these gains without buying new hardware.
