A Condusiv Technologies Case Study
The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA), a quasi‑governmental lender that finances affordable housing, migrated from physical PCs to a VMware Horizon View VDI to standardize desktops and improve support. Their primary challenge was preserving a fast, “pristine” end‑user experience on EMC VNXe flash storage—Windows write inefficiencies and excessive small I/Os threatened to waste precious IOPS and hurt performance for tier‑1 apps like VDI, MS‑SQL, Exchange and SharePoint.
MFA deployed Condusiv’s V-locity I/O reduction software, which prevents fragmented writes and uses idle DRAM to cache hot reads (IntelliWrite and IntelliMemory), running transparently with near‑zero overhead. The result: roughly 40% of I/O was offloaded from storage on VDI (similar 39% read / 40% write reductions on MS‑SQL), dramatically improving latency and throughput, delivering a fast user experience, and enabling rollout across other critical servers—with dashboard analytics and a “set‑and‑forget” install that requires no reboot.
