Deploys V-locity for MEDITECH on Virtual Servers to Solve Critical Performance Issues

Hancock Regional Hospital, which relies on MEDITECH for patient records and care coordination, was experiencing critical performance problems: slow record loads and latency on 60 MEDITECH virtual servers spread across two VMware farms. Large, 30+ year patient datasets, NTFS fragmentation and Windows split I/Os caused bottlenecks, forcing monthly reboots and threatening ER responsiveness—prompting consideration of an expensive SAN upgrade.

The team deployed V-locity on all 60 MEDITECH VMs to prevent split I/Os, reduce fragmentation and cache active data. Results were immediate: user-facing load times dropped (e.g., an EDM tracker went from 7s for 2 patients to 4s for 6; compiling 16 patients fell from 13s to 5s for 19), aggregate IOPS rose ~225% and response times improved ~67%.
