Community Services Organization Reduces I/O to Storage by 50% with V-locity I/O Reduction Software

Victor Community Support Services (VCSS) is a community-focused agency providing mental health and family support services. As the organization grew, its MS‑SQL financial apps (Great Plains, PaperSave) and EHR (Tier) generated heavy I/O across 100+ VMs on an aging Dell EqualLogic SAN, causing IOPS spikes, slow SQL reports and threatening the rollout of a planned VDI project.

VCSS installed Condusiv’s V-locity to optimize VM-to-storage I/O using file write optimization and DRAM read caching, then replaced the SAN with Nimble hybrid storage. The result was roughly a 50% reduction in I/O from VM to storage, dramatically lower latency and throughput improvements, SQL report times shrinking from 30 minutes to 3 minutes, and the ability to absorb the additional VDI workload without a proportional increase in storage IOPS.
