Admiral Metals was experiencing performance issues with their SQL and ShoreTel VOIP servers, which would bog down during peak load times and require weekly reboots. Seeking a solution without investing in expensive new hardware, the company turned to Condusiv Technologies to evaluate their V-locity I/O reduction software.

Condusiv implemented V-locity, which uses IntelliWrite and IntelliMemory technologies to optimize I/O at the source. The result was a dramatic performance improvement; SQL throughput nearly doubled, all lag disappeared during peak loads, and the need for weekly server reboots was eliminated. Measurably, the amount of I/O required to process 1 GB of data was cut in half, from 43,000 I/Os down to 22,000.
