Monash University launches Arin with Conduct after 4 rounds of design and user testing

Monash University, one of Australia's leading universities, faced a challenge in bringing together disconnected research equipment booking systems from various institutions. Their goal was to create a functional search portal to help researchers find the equipment they needed more easily. They approached vendor Conduct to design and develop this platform, named Arin (Australian Research Infrastructure Network), through Conduct's web application development team.

Conduct solved the core challenge of variable data by designing a solution that prompted users to validate and normalize the information. Through user-testing, they crafted a journey that appealed to researchers' collaborative nature and asked for feedback at the optimal point. The resulting multi-tenanted platform, Arin, successfully aggregates information from participating institutions into one intuitive portal. It improves its own data based on user input and sends validated information back to source systems. The solution's success led to plans for a national Australian rollout and a future international launch as a white-labelled product.
