ZEISS Implements a Central Research Repository Making Research More Accessible

ZEISS, a large technology enterprise in optics and optoelectronics, faced the challenge of managing UX research data that was scattered across different platforms, making it inaccessible company-wide. Their researchers were also burdened with tedious manual tasks like transcribing user interviews. To solve this, they turned to the vendor Condens to implement a central research repository.

Condens provided a solution that automated transcriptions and organized research into a searchable, GDPR-compliant repository. The implementation involved workshops to develop a shared taxonomy for tagging data and a phased migration of existing studies. The results included an optimized workflow that saved researchers time, democratized access to findings for stakeholders, and enabled powerful cross-project analysis. Measurable impacts include over 160 hours of automated transcription and the creation of more than 6,510 research highlights.
