BMO strengthens its research capabilities with a central research repository

Bank of Montreal (BMO), a major North American bank, faced a challenge with its decentralized design research process. Its team used a variety of disparate tools like Word, Excel, and SharePoint, which made it difficult to connect insights across projects and answer larger strategic questions. To overcome these obstacles and better leverage their research data, they sought a central repository solution from vendor Condens.

The solution implemented was the Condens research repository platform. The BMO team developed a custom taxonomy for tagging evidence and migrated key past studies into the new system. This implementation resulted in significant time savings by consolidating tools, smoother collaboration with stakeholders, and an improved ability to connect insights across studies. According to the case study, Condens helped the team of 52 users manage 129 projects and transcribe 313 research hours, putting answers to strategic questions at their fingertips.
