TDECU, a Texas-based credit union with more than 366,000 members and $4.7 billion in assets, needed to support a cloud migration while protecting member data and maintaining compliance. After three failed attempts to roll out a DSPM program, the team struggled to accurately identify sensitive data because prior tools relied on ineffective regular expressions. Concentric AI’s Semantic Intelligence was brought in to help classify data across on-premises file stores and later extend visibility into OneDrive and other SaaS environments.

Using Concentric AI’s AI- and machine learning-based approach, TDECU was able to quickly locate sensitive data based on file context and content, classify it, and begin protecting it right away. The team found every data category it needed during the POC, had practical visibility into both on-prem and cloud environments by the second day of deployment, and gained a user-friendly dashboard to monitor risk and remediate issues. Concentric AI also tuned the learning algorithms to better align with TDECU’s data labels, improving ongoing risk monitoring.
