ZINK Imaging optimizes print head design with Comsol simulation apps

ZINK Imaging, a company specializing in printing technology, utilized simulation software from Comsol to optimize its print head designs. The challenge was to efficiently compute the current distribution and heating throughout a multi-pixel thermal print head design.

Comsol's solution involved building a simulation app using the Application Builder tool within COMSOL Multiphysics®. This app allowed for the intuitive input of design parameters, such as the number and width of electrodes. The app was deployed via COMSOL Server™, enabling colleagues to easily access and use it. This provided ZINK Imaging with a clear and uncluttered way to view computed results for optimizing their designs.
