A Comsol Case Study
A research group at the University at Buffalo wanted to extend its multiphysics simulation expertise across various industries, enabling customers to perform advanced analyses without requiring deep modeling knowledge. Their challenge was to make complex simulation models accessible to a broader range of end-users and organizations. To achieve this, they leveraged tools from vendor COMSOL.
The solution involved using the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and its Application Builder to turn complex models into custom, easy-to-use simulation applications, which were then deployed via COMSOL Server™. This allowed end-users at client companies like Vader Systems and Xerox to run specialized simulations themselves, significantly accelerating product development cycles. The COMSOL-based apps fostered greater collaboration, reduced trial-and-error engineering, and helped students at the university develop valuable business and technical skills.
