Mieletec FH Bielefeld reduces induction stove experiments by 80% with Comsol

Mieletec FH Bielefeld, in collaboration with Miele, faced challenges in designing a quieter and more stable induction stove. They needed to optimize the electromagnetic and thermal interaction between the coil and cookware to eliminate high-pitched noise and prevent pots from moving, all while reducing physical prototypes.

Using COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software from the vendor Comsol, the team modeled the multiphysics system. By performing parametric sweeps of current frequency and coil geometry, Comsol's solution enabled them to find a nearly silent design and a magnetic force configuration that kept pots stationary. This approach reduced the number of required experiments by 80%, saving significant time and costs.
