Microvisk optimizes blood viscosity microchips with Comsol

Microvisk Technologies, a developer of medical devices, faced the challenge of designing a reliable hand-held device to measure blood viscosity using innovative MEMS micro-cantilevers. They needed to analyze the complex multiphysics interactions within their microchip design. To achieve this, they utilized COMSOL Multiphysics software.

Using COMSOL Multiphysics, researchers at Microvisk were able to perform integrated mechanical, thermal, and electrostatic analyses of their micro-cantilever chips, including their interactions with fluids. This enabled COMSOL to help them optimize the design, resulting in a finalized product that provides accurate and reliable testing in a simple, hand-held format for minute blood samples.
