A Comsol Case Study

Preview of the Knowles Corporation Case Study

Knowles Corporation uses Comsol to optimize hearing aid design for the 20% of Americans with hearing impairment

Knowles Corporation, a manufacturer of hearing aids, faced the challenge of a complex and time-consuming design process for their products. They needed a way to simplify research and accelerate development to bring new options to consumers faster. To address this, they turned to simulation software from the vendor Comsol, specifically COMSOL Multiphysics®.

Comsol provided a solution where engineers implemented a simplified "black box" circuitry model of a receiver coupled to a vibroacoustic system model. This approach drastically reduced the time required to optimize hearing aid performance. As a result, Knowles Corporation was able to expedite its design process and bring new prototypes to market much more quickly.
