Heidelberg Materials boosts concrete casting decisions with Comsol; HETT downloaded 1100+ times in 6 months

Heidelberg Materials, a major global supplier of construction materials, faced the challenge of helping its customers predict how variables like weather, time, and material selection would affect the early-age performance and strength development of concrete on construction sites. To provide this predictive capability, they partnered with the vendor Comsol and its Certified Consultant, Deflexional, to develop a solution using the COMSOL Multiphysics software and COMSOL Compiler™.

The solution implemented by Comsol's partner was a compiled simulation application called HETT. This app allows contractors to model site-specific conditions and forecast concrete maturity. The results were significant, with the app being downloaded over 1100 times in just six months after launch. This provided measurable impact by enabling users to make more informed decisions, optimize construction processes, manage costs, and reduce the carbon footprint of their projects.
